The Region's population grew 19 percent between 2004 and 2010. Red Deer County's growth was pegged at almost 9 per cent while the City's came in at just over 13 per cent. Population forecasts project continued growth between 1.7 per cent and 2.0 per cent per year.
The area's population is one of the youngest in Canada with the median age of 35 years versus the national median of 38. Due to an exceptional economic base and quality of life, the population of the Red Deer Region has grown rapidly over the last several years.
