Roads

  • Alberta Highway 2 runs north and south cuts through the centre of the Region. It connects local businesses to suppliers and markets on the Canamex Corridor—a 2,736 kilometre (1,700 mile) highway system that links three countries.
  • The Red Deer Region is a one-hour drive north of the TransCanada Highway. This 7,821 km (4,860 miles) road is the world's longest national highway stretching from Victoria, British Columbia to St. John's, Newfoundland.
  • Many trucking firms operate out of the Region and service the corridor between Calgary, Edmonton and beyond. Exporters may find opportunities for reduced back haul rates to certain destinations. Alberta drivers pay the least amount of fuel tax in Canada.
